Common Dashboard Metrics

Release: 16.2

View As PDF

Overview

The Dashboard Metrics identified in this list are the most commonly requested. For an introduction to the Dashboard, please refer to the Introduction to the Dashboard article.

Using This Guide

This guide is organized into scenarios which explain when to use each type of metric, as well as how to create a panel and widget(s) for each metric. Please note that the search template names detailed below may not match the names of the templates avaiable in your organization's platform.

Tips:
  • Panels and widgets always go together. Panels are created first so that widgets have a place to be stored. Once a panel is created, a widget can be placed within the panel. (Note: Quick Links is its own, pre-built panel. Additional panels cannot be built for Quick Links, though widgets can be added as necessary.)
  • If you are unable to locate a search template referenced for a widget in any of the sections below, it may be because your Platform does not have that particular search template, or that you do not have access to that search template. Contact your User Admin for assistance.
  • Note that the steps below will assume that you are comfortable with different panel types and creating new panels and widgets; for more basic information about the Dashboard or creating and editing panels and widgets, please review the following articles:
