Hi again! While there is a way to delay sending a rejection email, there is no way to delay changing a candidate's status. For that reason, I think that Lara is correct -- the best solution may be masking/labelling the statuses differently for candidates. One way to consider doing this is using a label like "Application Received" for pre-rejection statuses and "Application Reviewed" for post-rejection statuses, for example.
